1916 George V Halfcrowns For 4 ($6.70) What Do You Reckon?
I saw this deal online, 1916 Half crown's in 'Fine' Condition for 4.
There pre-1919 so there 92.5% Silver. I did the maths; The coins weigh 14.1 g in total, 92.5% of 14.1 grams = 13.0425 grams 13.0425 grams = 0.460060649 ounces 0.460060649 ounces = 4.78 ($8.01) as of 10/11/09 (or 11/10/09 if your American) Am I right? |

is this the same coin ? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lot-J-George-V...07133001r32461 looks like some copper English pennies, the engraving that is. 4 sounds like a great deal. i don't suppose Apmex has them for that price ? |

I closed well below spot on a pair of florins this week already. Went a little higher for a 1886 shilling, but still only about half spot. You just can't beat old brit silver

I mean I paid 12, ($19.80) for a 5 Shilling piece (.8409 troy ounce of pure silver.) dated 1889 in V.F-E.F condition. People scoffed at that, telling my I'd be ripped off, but I did my homework and found out the coin was worth over 20 because of its age and condition. |
